1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing the Golden Gate Cleaners website, using our services, or booking a cleaning, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website or services.
2. Services Described
Golden Gate Cleaners provides residential and commercial cleaning services in San Francisco only. Service descriptions, scope, and pricing displayed on our website are estimates and guidelines.
Final pricing is confirmed by Golden Gate Cleaners before scheduling. Prices may vary based on actual home size, condition, accessibility, and specific cleaning requests.
3. Booking & Scheduling
When you submit a booking request, you are requesting a cleaning service, not confirming an instant appointment. We will review your request and confirm scheduling within a few hours.
Card on file is required to hold your scheduling slot, but you will not be charged until after your cleaning is completed. Once we confirm, you'll receive a confirmation email with job details.
4. Pricing & Payment
Prices shown on our website are ranges. Final pricing is confirmed before your cleaning appointment. We process all payments through Square, a trusted payment processor.
Payment is due after service completion via invoice. By providing your card on file, you authorize Golden Gate Cleaners to charge for:
- Completed cleaning services
- No-shows (full service charge)
- Late cancellations under 24 hours (up to 50% fee, per our cancellation policy)
5. Cancellation & Rescheduling
We offer flexible cancellation and rescheduling options:
- 24+ hours notice: Free cancellation or rescheduling
- Less than 24 hours: Up to 50% cancellation fee applies
- No-show: Full service charge will be applied to your card on file

6. Referral Program
Our referral program lets current and former customers share Golden Gate Cleaners with a friend and earn a discount in return. The full terms below apply to every referral.
Eligibility. The program is open to current and former Golden Gate Cleaners customers in our San Francisco service area who are at least 18 years old. Cleaners, employees, and members of their immediate households are not eligible to refer or be referred.
How the discount works. A referred friend receives 10% off the subtotal of their first completed cleaning. The referring customer receives 10% off the subtotal of their next completed cleaning after the friend's first clean closes. Discounts apply automatically when the booking is made through a personal referral link or with a referral code on file — no separate code is required.
When rewards vest. Both discounts vest only when the qualifying clean is completed and paid for in full. Cancellations, no-shows, refunds, or chargebacks void the corresponding reward.
Stacking. Referral discounts are not combinable with other promotional discounts (welcome credits, seasonal promotions, etc.). When more than one discount could apply, the customer receives the single largest applicable discount.
Limits. There is no cap on the number of friends you can refer. Each friend can generate only one referral reward — on their first completed clean. Self-referrals, household-member referrals, and referrals between joint accounts are not eligible.
Fraud and abuse. We may decline, reverse, or withhold rewards if we reasonably believe a referral is fraudulent, duplicate, or made in bad faith. Examples include fake accounts, referees with no intent to receive service, and coordinated abuse.
Non-transferable, no cash value. Discounts are non-transferable, have no cash value, are not redeemable for cash, and cannot be sold or assigned to another person.
Tax. Customers are responsible for any tax liability that may arise from receiving discounts under this program.
Changes and termination. We may change the discount percentage, eligibility rules, or end the program at any time. Changes are not retroactive — discounts already earned at the time of a change remain valid.
The referral program is subject to and incorporated into these Terms of Service.
7. Our Responsibilities
Golden Gate Cleaners is licensed and insured in San Francisco. All staff members are background-checked before employment.
We maintain liability insurance that covers accidental damage caused by our cleaning staff. If damage occurs:
- Please report it to us within 24 hours with photos if possible
- We will document the incident and work with our insurance
- Claims are handled per our insurance coverage terms
8. Your Responsibilities
To ensure a safe and productive cleaning experience, you agree to:
- Provide safe and reasonable access to the space being cleaned
- Secure valuables, cash, and jewelry before our arrival
- Inform us of hazards (wet floors, steep stairs, fragile items, etc.)
- Provide alarm codes and gate access in advance if needed
- Inform us about pets and their behavior or access restrictions
- Ensure someone 18+ is available for initial access if needed
We are not responsible for items damaged, lost, or stolen if valuables are left unsecured or not disclosed to us.
9. Limitation of Liability
Golden Gate Cleaners' liability is limited to the cost of the cleaning service for that specific visit. We are not liable for:
- Pre-existing damage or stains
- Normal wear and tear
- Items not disclosed to us before cleaning
- Damages caused by structural issues, plumbing, or electrical problems
- Damage to items left unsecured or in unreasonable locations
Insurance claims are handled separately per our insurance coverage terms. For significant damage claims, our insurance carrier may require documentation and investigation.
10. Property Access & Keys
If you provide a key, access code, or other entry method to Golden Gate Cleaners, you authorize our staff to enter your property for cleaning purposes only.
All keys are stored securely and are never duplicated. Keys are only used by authorized staff for scheduled cleaning appointments. If you need to revoke access, contact us immediately.
11. Recurring Services
If you sign up for recurring cleaning services (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.), you can pause or cancel your schedule anytime. Cancellation is effective after the current scheduled appointment.
Pricing for recurring services may differ from one-time cleanings and will be confirmed before your first appointment.
No automatic charges. Recurring schedules are convenience scheduling only. Your card on file is not automatically charged on a recurring basis. Each cleaning generates a separate invoice that you pay individually after the service is completed. You may pause or cancel your recurring schedule at any time at your account or by contacting us — no notice required, and there are no cancellation fees.
11a. Photo Documentation
By booking a cleaning, you authorize Golden Gate Cleaners staff to take before and after photographs of work areas to verify the service and maintain quality. Cleaners are instructed to photograph only the areas being cleaned and not your personal items, mail, or other private effects.
You may decline photography at any time by visiting your communication preferences or emailing privacy@sanfranciscogoldengatecleaners.com. Photo retention, access, and your right to opt out are described in our Privacy Policy.
11b. SMS Program Terms
Program name: Golden Gate Cleaners Customer Care. By opting in, you agree to receive non-marketing text messages from Golden Gate Cleaners related to your service — appointment confirmations, day-before reminders, cleaner ETA, job-completion updates, invoices, and replies to your inquiries.
- Message frequency: Recurring, approximately 1–3 messages per cleaning. Frequency varies based on your booking activity.
- Cost: Message and data rates may apply. Golden Gate Cleaners does not charge for the messages themselves; standard rates from your wireless carrier apply.
- Opt-out: Reply STOP to any message at any time to unsubscribe. You will receive a one-time confirmation that you've been unsubscribed; no further messages will be sent.
- Help: Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at hello@sanfranciscogoldengatecleaners.com.
- Carriers: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Boost, U.S. Cellular, MetroPCS, and others.
- Privacy: Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories of data are governed by our Privacy Policy.
You may opt in to text messages by checking the SMS consent box during booking, by texting START to our number, or by enabling text updates in your account communication preferences.
12. Account Terms
You are responsible for keeping your account information accurate and up-to-date. This includes your name, address, phone number, and payment information.
One account per person is permitted. We reserve the right to refuse service to any customer or suspend an account if terms are violated or if service cannot be safely or professionally provided.
13. Intellectual Property
All content on the Golden Gate Cleaners website, including our logo, branding, text, images, and design elements, is the property of Golden Gate Cleaners and protected by copyright law.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any of our content without prior written permission.
14. Dispute Resolution
We prefer to resolve any issues directly and amicably. If you have a concern or dispute:
- Contact us first via email or phone
- Describe the issue clearly with any supporting details
- We'll respond within 48 hours
If the issue cannot be resolved directly, disputes shall be governed by the laws of California and subject to the jurisdiction of San Francisco County.
15. Changes to Terms
Golden Gate Cleaners may update these Terms of Service at any time. Your continued use of our website and services after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
